The last phase of the renovation of Singer Laren, begun in 1988, was the air conditioning of the garden rooms. The project was completed in 2005, and Queen Beatrix inaugurated the new addition and facilities on May 17, 2006.

The new space looks onto the garden rooms through a large glass partition as well as out onto the sculpture garden via another glass wall. Its new name, 'Orangerie', does justice to the transparence of this new space, which will also be used for exhibitions of sculpture and applied art.
