Colourful Singer |
Singer Laren plays with colour in a presentation of works from the museum’s collection. Colour and the use of colour form the thread. The solemn colours of Evert Pieters, the sun-drenched work of Ferdinand Hart Nibbrig and the primary colours of Bart van der Leck, all colours of the spectrum are on display |

Bij ons in het Gooi. Photography by Bert Verhoeff |
Photographer Bert Verhoeff (1949) worked for years for the national newspaper De Volkskrant. In 1984 he was awarded the Zilveren Camera and in 1988 elected Photojournalist of the Year. In 1994 the Rijksmuseum commissioned him to document One hundred years of Social Democracy. Over the last years Verhoeff has concentrated more and more on longterm projects, most of them resulting in a publication. Capturing the moment in a press-photo has made way for work with a greater inner rest. Verhoeff shows the natural, though not obvious side of life. The presentation in Singer Laren coincedes with the publication of his newest book, Bij ons in het Gooi. |

Collection Singer. Sculpture and Works on paper |
The Singer Laren collection holds, apart from paintings, a large collection of sculpture and works on paper. These artworks are, for the most part, from the original collection assembled by the American couple William and Anna Singer. This collection was donated to the Singer Laren Museum at its founding in 1954. Among the sculptures is the largest ensemble of Rodin bronzes in the Netherlands. The collection works of paper consists of some 1200 drawings and 750 prints, ranging from works by Hendrik Goltzius to Aat Veldhoen. In 2002 the catalogue of paintings was published. 'Drawings and Prints' and 'Sculpture' are the new volumes in the series of collection catalogues. |
